How to Add Ballistics Information to Your Hikmicro Scope: Step-by-step

Setting up the ballistic information in your scope correctly is an important step in getting the most from your rifle and ammunition setup.

In this guide, we walk through how to enter your zeroing information, ammunition details and ballistic parameters into your scope.

1. Open the Scope Settings

Start from the home screen and hold down the top turret to open the side menu.

Scroll down to:

Advanced Settings → Top Turret

From here, you can select your preferred Zeroing Profile.

2. Choose Your Zeroing Profile

The scope allows you to set up multiple profiles, labelled A, B, C, D and E.

Select the profile you want to use. For example, you might choose Profile A.

You can also have multiple zeroing setups within a profile, allowing you to store different sighting configurations.

3. Enter Your Ammunition Information

Go into the Zeroing section and select your preferred setup.

This is where you can enter information about your ammunition, including the cartridge and projectile weight.

For example:

300 Win Mag – 150 grain

Once entered, the ammunition information will be displayed on the scope.

4. Enter Your Zeroing Distance

Next, scroll down to Correction.

Your zeroing distance is important, as the ballistic calculations use this distance as their reference point.

Enter the distance you actually used when zeroing your rifle and then save the settings.

For example:

A1 | 100 yards | 300 Win Mag | 150 grain

5. Turn on Ballistics Calculation

From the Correction menu, select:

Ballistics Calculation → ON

Then scroll down to Parameters.

This is where you'll enter the information needed for the scope to calculate your ballistic corrections.

6. Enter Your Ballistic Parameters

You'll need to enter several pieces of information about your ammunition and rifle setup.

Drag Model

Check which drag model applies to your projectile. This information can usually be found on the ammunition or projectile packaging, or through the projectile manufacturer.

Muzzle Velocity

Enter the muzzle velocity of your ammunition, making sure the correct unit is selected.

For example, velocity may be entered in feet per second (fps).

Altitude

Enter the altitude relevant to your shooting location.

Depending on your settings, this can be entered in metres or feet.

Temperature

Enter the temperature relevant to your shooting conditions.

Ballistic Coefficient

Enter the ballistic coefficient (BC) for your projectile.

Make sure you're using the correct BC for your specific projectile and drag model.

Sight Height

Finally, enter your sight height.

This is the measurement from the centre of the rifle bore to the centre of the scope.

It's important to measure this accurately for your particular rifle and scope setup.

7. Save Your Settings

Once you've entered all your information:

1. Use a long press to select Save Parameters.

2. Use a short press on the top turret to confirm.

3. Your ballistic information will now be saved to the selected profile.

8. Return to the Home Screen

Use long presses to work your way back through the menus until you reach the home screen.

Your scope is now set up with the ballistic information you've entered.

Quick Tips:

Before heading to the range, double-check that your:

• Zeroing distance is correct

• Ammunition and projectile weight are correct

• Muzzle velocity is accurate

• Drag model matches your projectile

• Ballistic coefficient is correct

• Sight height has been measured accurately

• Units are set correctly

Accurate information means more accurate ballistic calculations, so take the time to check each setting against your actual rifle and ammunition setup.
